Sega and Disney reveal re-imagined Mickey Mouse game will launch this summer on PSN, PC, and XBLA.
Sega and Disney today confirmed a high-definition version of 1990 Sega Genesis game Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse will launch this summer on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and PC. The game was first hinted at in a teaser trailer last week.
No price for the game was announced.
The game is in development at Sega Studios Australia. The developer said its aim is to make sure the game maintains the "Disney magic" of the decades-old original.
To achieve this, Sega is working "very closely" with the original game's director, who is now at Disney Interactive.
"If you have played the original game, you will also see that we have kept intact many of the major iconic elements of the game that helped define this groundbreaking game at the time of its original release," Sega senior digital brand manager Mai Kawaguchi said in a statement.
The Castle of Illusion HD remake may be Sega Studios Australia's last game, as the publisher said last week that it would close the developer later this year.
