Put down Draw Something for just a minute (as impossible as that may be, we know). It's time to take a look at some real art by real artists whose skills extend miles beyond dragging colors across an iPhone.

Back in the 1980s (so, 2 billion years ago, before technology or Nicki Minaj), MTV first introduced "Art Breaks," MTV TV spots created by seminal visual artists like Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Jean Michel Basquiat and Richard Prince as a way to bring visual art to viewers who tuned in to MTV for the art of music videos.

Continuing in that tradition, MTV, together with MoMA, PS1 and Creative Time, is bringing "Art Breaks" back, with old-school videos from Richard Prince and Basquiat, along with brand-new videos from emerging artists following in the footsteps of artists who birthed the series: Rashaad Newsome, whose piece is culled from "SWAG the Mixtape Vol. 2 , 2012" project; Mickalene Thomas, whose Super 8 piece challenges notions of sexuality and femininity; and Tala Madani, whose silent video, "Under Man," features stop-motion animation.

More artists will make their "Art Breaks" digital debut this summer on MTV, MTV.com and artbreaks.mtv.com.
