Ciara's pre-VMA set last night was a #covermoment if we ever saw one.

We don't know about you guys, but we are absolutely duh-HYING over this whole VMA waiting game. (Three more days spent forsaking family and loved ones in favor of the All Access livestream? #SweetDreamOrBeautifulNightmare) That's why we are beyond ecstatic that MTV and COVERGIRL decided to give us a pre-awards show taste at their Easy, Breezy, Brooklyn VMA Week event last night headlined by none other than the queen of gravity-defying dance moves and incomparable core strength: Ciara!!!!

While the opening acts -- MTV Artist To Watch Becky G and VMA pre-show red carpet DJs NERVO -- got everyone progressively turnt up, we sat down with the R&B crossover queen to ask her a few questions about the "I'm Out" singer's VMA Sunday plans. After staring at her wide-eyed and silent for what was probably five seconds but felt like five minutes (because OMFG WE'RE A FOOT AWAY FROM CIARA), our Q&A began.

When asked about her usual pre-event rituals, Ciara shared that: "I'm consistent with playing good music in the background. I dance around and act silly. I make sure I have a little food in my tummy so I don't pass out from holding my stomach in on the carpet. But you know what? You got to have fun." Music? Silliness? Food? Ummm, CiCi? (Can we call you CiCi? We're calling you CiCi.) Can we, like, hang out and be best friends?! Thx.

We could literally watch you 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-infinity step, Ciara.

Remembering that Ciara is one-half of our current Couple Crush Alert with boyfriend Future, we just haaaaad to ask some cutesy couple-y red carpet questions. Like, would they ever do the whole couples-matchy-matchy outfit thing? "It's funny because we don't do it on purpose and sometimes he’ll walk out the door and I’ll walk out the door with the same vibe on." The two occasionally wear the same-ish thing sans coordination? Cue: AWWWWWWW.

And would they have the 'same vibe on' at the VMAs? "Naw, we'll be matching internally." Hmm, so I guess we can stop crossing our fingers for a Ciara/Future 2013 redux of Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears' iconic all-denim formalwear. #AudibleSigh

Need to look up "flawless #covermoment" in the dictionary? NOT ANYMORE!

Performing on Brooklyn's Music Hall Of Williamsburg stage, the maybe Best Choreography Moonman-haver TOTALLY lived up to her nomination's name. As if belonging to some alien species of super haute UFO bebs whose only exposure to Earth was through Michael Jackson videos, Ciara's body ducked and weaved, dropping move after move, each more exciting than the last. The angles. The angles! And that graphic polka dot take on the varsity jacket? TOO MUCH. We want it all.

Throughout the rest of Ciara's flawlessly performed set, you could just telllllllll that she's loving every second of her life right now. Her life is banging. Her self-titled fifth album is banging. Her BF is banging. (Hay, Future, hay!) Basically, Ciara's performance last night was a #covermoment if we ever saw one.
