The second season of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 just arrived, but the Season 2 patch notes already teased a bit of what players can expect for the following season, including the return of the fan-favorite Gunfight mode to multiplayer. According to the Season 2 patch notes, Gunfight will return to Call of Duty in Season 3 of Modern Warfare 2, and new maps will arrive with each season. Vanguard had a 3v3 Gunfight spin-off called Champion Hill, so the last time Call of Duty had a traditional Gunfight mode was Black Ops Cold War. Gunfight is a 2v2 mode originally introduced in Modern Warfare 2019, which chisels multiplayer down to swift matches on small maps specifically tailored for 2v2 action.
