Comic-Con 2014: Perform an Assassin’s Creed Leap of Faith as Part of Ubisoft’s Showing

Ubisoft today announced its lineup for next week's pop culture megashow, San Diego Comic-Con, and it includes playable games, a special "Assassin's Creed Experience," and panels around upcoming titles like Assassin's Creed Unity and Far Cry 4.

Most notably, Ubisoft is creating an Assassin's Creed Experience outside of the convention hall. There, attendees can run through a massive parkour obstacle course to try their hand at the kind of free-running, vaulting, and rolling featured in the games. There is even a 25-foot "Leap of Faith" section of the obstacle course that you can try. Presumably, you will be jumping into something padded and secure and not just a haystack…

Last year at Comic-Con, Ubisoft held Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag presentations on a real-world "pirate ship" and even shot off cannons.

The latest single-player demo for Assassin's Creed Unity will also be on display at the Assassin's Creed Experience, but Ubisoft did not say if the game will actually be playable.

In addition, for the second year running, Ubisoft has partnered with Schick Hydro. As part of this promotion, you can visit the Assassin's Creed Experience and a professional barber will give you a "customized shave." The Assassin's Creed Experience at Comic-Con will be open from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday of Comic-Con week and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m on the final day, Sunday, July 27.

If you're able to get into the Comic-Con show itself, you can visit the Ubisoft booth, which is #135 in the Exhibition Hall. There, you can go hands on with Ubisoft's open-world racing game, The Crew. If you want to try out Just Dance 2015, you can visit the Nintendo Gaming Lounge at the nearby San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina hotel.

As disclosed last week, Ubisoft is also hosting various panels at Comic-Con, including presentations focusing on Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed Unity. Attendees at the Assassin's Creed Unity panel will get a first look as the Assassin's Creed-inspired animated short produced by famous musician and filmmaker Rob Zombie and The Walking Dead co-creator Tony Moore.

Ubisoft is just one of many game companies attending Comic-Con, which runs July 24-27. Check out our roundup post for all the gaming-related happenings at the show. We will have editors on the ground bringing you all the news as it happens.
