Corsair’s Highly Rated 1TB PS5 SSD Is Only $80 At Amazon

Outfitting your PS5 with a larger NVMe SSD for more storage space is a worthwhile upgrade. Unfortunately, NVMe SSD prices are higher than they were last year due to production costs and general shortages, so it isn't always easy to justify the expense. Unless, of course, you're lucky enough to find one on sale--and that's what we're here to help with. We've waded through the Amazon listings to find the best discounts on NVMe SSDs that are compatible with PlayStation 5.

All of the internal NVMe SSDs listed here are also compatible with PC and most come with a heatsink preinstalled. Installing an NVMe SSD in your PS5's open M.2 slot is a pretty simple process, but we have a step-by-step guide in case you need assistance. Bear in mind that while these deals will save you some cash on these internal SSDs, due to the aforementioned shortages, it's uncommon in 2024 (so far) to find a well-regarded PS5-compatible 1TB SSD for less than around $90.

If you're specifically in the market for an NVMe SSD for your PC, you can get slightly better deals--mainly because the PS5 is limited to SSDs with fairly high sequential read speed requirements. But it never hurts to future-proof your PC either, so the deals below are certainly worth considering even if you don't own a PS5. Let's take a look at the best PS5 SSD deals at Amazon right now.

Corsair MP600 with heatsink

The compact Corsair MP600 LPX comes in a variety of storage capacities, but the best value right now is the 1TB model with a heatsink, as it's on sale for only $80. This is about as low as it gets for a 1TB PS5-ready SSD this year, especially from a leading manufacturer. The MP600 has read speeds up to 7,100MB/s and write speeds reaching 6,800MB/s. The PS5 only requires 5,500MB/s, so the MP600 is plenty fast enough for your console while also being ideal for a high-end gaming rig.

Lexar NM790 with heatsink

This is another great heatsink-equipped SSD from a trusted brand that is compatible with PC and PS5. Over at Amazon, you can grab the 1TB model for $73 (was $110), 2TB for $145 (was $168), or splurge and go for the 4TB version that's down to $280 (was $300).

WD Black SN850X with heatsink

WD Black's SN850X is one of the best internal NVMe SSDs for PS5 and PC, and since this model comes with a heatsink pre-attached, it's simple to install in your PS5. You can grab the 2TB model for $155 (was $200), or the 1TB version for $100 at Amazon.

Crucial T500 with heatsink

Crucial's T500 is slightly faster than the MP600 at 7,300MB/s. You won't notice a difference on PS5, but if you're shopping for PC and have a high-end rig, you might appreciate the small bump in speed. The 1TB model is on sale at Amazon for $91 (was $156), or you can opt for the 2TB model that's down to $143 (was $210). Both models include a heatsink.

Samsung 990 Pro with heatsink

The Samsung 990 Pro is one of the best PS5 SSDs both from a performance and reliability standpoint. It boasts read speeds of up to 7,450MB/s and is sold with or without a heatsink--it's up to you, but just know you'll need to add a heatsink to use it on PS5. Plus, the prices are very similar right now. You can grab a 1TB edition with a heatsink for $120 (was $175).
