First Set of Three 7” Collectibles Based on DC’s Bombshells Will Be Available at Cryptozoic’s Booth (#115)
Lake Forest, CA – July 14 2016 – Cryptozoic Entertainment ( cryptozoic.com), leading creator of board games, trading cards, and collectibles, and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, in partnership with DC Entertainment, are proud to announce the pre-release of Series 1 of the DC Comics Bombshells Vinyl Figures at San Diego Comic-Con. The 7” figures will be available at Cryptozoic’s booth (#115) before receiving a full nationwide release later this summer.
DC Bombshells originated as a series of statues inspired by 1940s pinup art and dieselpunk and featuring some of DC Comics’s greatest female characters. Debuting in 2013 with Wonder Woman, the series has become a runaway success with collectors and an inspiration to cosplayers. The statues were followed in 2015 by the DC Bombshells comic book series, which reimagines DC’s history by placing its heroines and notorious villainesses at the center of World War II, in the process drawing attention to the changing roles of women in that era. Now, DC Bombshells star in this exciting new line of vinyl figures from Cryptozoic Entertainment.
Series 1 of Cryptozoic’s DC Comics Bombshells includes several fan favorites: the mighty Amazonian princess Wonder Woman, the cute and crazy Harley Quinn, and the ever cunning and crafty Catwoman. Inspired by Ant Lucia’s illustrations and the DC Bombshells comics, these stylized figurines are approximately 7” tall and were designed by Pedro Astudillo and sculpted by Anders Ehrenborg.
Fans looking to collect all three of these DC Comics Bombshells Vinyl Figures—Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn and Catwoman—can purchase them at Cryptozoic’s booth (#115) at San Diego Comic-Con and, starting later this summer, at comic book stores, bookstores, and board game and specialty retailers, with a suggested retail price of $29.99. The figures come packaged in a display-worthy window box for optimal viewing.
