CD Projekt Red has no intentions of changing its plans to focus on a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 after the critical and commercial success of Phantom Liberty. Game director Gabe Amatangelo has confirmed the expansion and 2.0 update are basically the end of the road for new content for the RPG. Speaking with PC Gamer, Amatangelo mentioned his team will "do a little something more" with Cyberpunk 2077, "but those are the last big ones." As such, all eyes shift to the sequel that's referred to as Project Orion. CD Projekt Red revealed its long-term strategy in October 2022, when Cyberpunk 2 was officially announced alongside a new Witcher trilogy. The studio said at the time that Orion would be the focus after Phantom Liberty. For the sequel, the core Cyberpunk 2077 team is relocating to Boston to build the RPG.
