Dave Bautista played Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy series, but ended his run as the muscular hero with 2023's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Bautista has now reflected on his time playing the character, saying he doesn't necessarily miss playing the character, but he misses the "family environment" of being together with his co-stars. He also talked about how he never got closure because he had to quickly leave the set after filming to make his next movie, M. Night Shyamalan's Knock at the Cabin. "It's never going to happen again. It's hard to live with that," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "Our last night filming was here in Hollywood, and we wrapped at 3 or 4 in the morning. And then I literally had to run to the hotel, get my bags, jump on a jet and fly to Philadelphia to start Knock at the Cabin two days later." Bautista also wasn't able to do press for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 or attend the movie's premiere due to other commitments, and this contributed to the sadness he feels about Drax and the series in general.
