DC's FanDome event is a huge undertaking for the comic company, raking in tens of millions of views across 220 countries and in 12 languages. After just two years though, Warner Bros. Discovery appears to be putting the event on pause, if not canceling it for good, according to a statement from the company (via IndieWire) "With the return of in-person events, Warner Bros. Discovery is excited to be able to engage with our fans live at numerous comic-cons around the world and will not be scheduling DC FanDome for 2022," the company said in an official statement. DC originally kicked the event off in 2020 as a way to connect to fans during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering an eight-hour live stream in the format of a virtual convention. The event featured announcements, panels with creators and actors, and fan-focused events. 2021's viewership garnered "triple the fan traffic" of the 2020 show, according to a statement from Warner Bros. following the previous event.
