Atlus shutting down North American online game servers for 2009 role-playing title on May 31; two World Tendency events planned.
Demon's Souls' online presence will be no more next month. Publisher Atlus confirmed to Game Informer today that the North American online servers for the role-playing game will be shut down on May 31 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
Additionally, Atlus said it has two World Tendency events planned for next month, which will run May 1-15 and May 16-31, and will be based on a fan vote.
In a statement, Atlus vice president of sales and marketing Tim Pivnicny thanked fans for supporting the game.
"Regrettably, the online servers cannot be sustained forever and now the end draws near. Thank you to the unparalleled passion and support of the Demon's Souls community throughout these last two and a half years," he said. "The online adventure may end soon, but the memory of it--just like that of every boss strategy, every level floor plan, and hidden secret--lives on in the gamers for whom the game was so special."
