Need we remind you again that SUMMER'S COMING? Yep, the weather's warming up (any day now, we swear), and all we can think about are pool parties, beach soirees, and outdoor music festivals. Actually, to rephrase: beach parties and outdoor music festivals COMBINED. That's why we cannot WAIT to spend this weekend rocking out at the 2013 Hangout Music Festival at Alabama's Gulf Shore (hosting names like Ellie Goulding, Passion Pit, Stevie Wonder, and more). And you know us -- we like to be prepared. What to bring?! That's why we caught up with rap-rock-tronica duo and fellow Hangout Music Festival performers twenty | one | pilots to chat summer festival-going tips.

"Suntan lotion is bad for you. Go all natural," argues 21P drummer Josh Dun. "I would never put that stuff on. It just messes you up." Ummmm, Josh, not sure we agree (because MELANOMA), but here's a deal: ONLY wear sunscreen if you intend to watch Hangout Music Fest OUTSIDE from Alabama's Gulf Shore. But if you're opting to livestream the event from the dark, cozy, cool comfort of your home, then we guess all bets are off.
