The newest wave of Mattel’s 6″ DC Multiverse action figure line has started to show up stores. This new wave is all figures from the upcoming Suicide Squad movie, and made it’s debut at Toy Fair back in February. There’s a bit more to this figure line than meets the eye.
While Mattel is back in the market for making 6″ collector figures they are still not great with communicating to collectors. Much like the two exclusive Batman and Superman figures appeared unannounced in Toys R Us for the Batman V Superman line, there are some additional retail exclusives in the Suicide Squad Multiverse line, as well as some choices you will have to make with the Collect and Connect Killer Croc figure. To my earlier point, at Toy Fair Mattel didn’t even announce that Killer Croc WAS the Collect and Connect figure! We’re here to help you understand the full scope of the line and where everything will be available.
The primary retail line is made up of 6 figures: Deadshot, Batman, Harley Quinn, Boomerang, Katana and the Joker. Collecting all 6 of those figures will allow you to build the shirtless Croc Collect and Connect figure.
If you want the FULL action figure line that tie into the Suicide Squad movie there is an additional Joker and Harley figure that are exclusive to Toys R Us, a Harley Quinn from Amazon.com, Diablo and Flagg figures are exclusive to Walmart and the SDCC 2016 exclusive Joker and PandaMan 2-pack. For those keeping track that 3 Harleys, 3 Jokers and a giant panda in the line.
This is the cardback on the regular retail series that shows you the line up and which figure comes with which piece of Croc:
Much like the Batman V Superman figures the line will ship in two “mix” assortments. The first assortment/wave is shipping now and contains: Batman, Deadshot and jacket-less Harley Quinn(with bat). The second mix will ship after the movie is released and will contain: The Joker, Boomerang and Katana. With the two mix system that means you will not be able to build your Croc right away.
I found assortment #1 yesterday at Toys R Us, so let’s take a look at the prototypes shown at Toy Fair and the carded final product.
Deadshot: Comes with an alternate masked head and shirtless Croc’s arm.
Harley Quinn (no jacket): Comes with bat accessory and one of Croc’s legs.
Batman: Comes with 3 bat-a-rangs, bat-cuffs, the grapnel, a gas grenade, an alternate head with breather mask and shirtless Croc’s torso.
Here’s a look at what they showed at Toy Fair for the second mix of figures:
Joker (purple coat, Arkham pants, barefoot): Will come with Croc’s other leg.
Katana: Will come with Croc’s head and crotch.
Boomerang: Will come with boomerangs and Croc’s other arm.
When you have all 6 of the regular figures you can build this Croc…mostly…
You’ll notice on this Croc (as well as the one on the back of package on the regular line that his hands are UNbandaged. The CnC part that comes with the Deadshot in the regular line has bandaged hands… but you’ll still have another chance at the bare hands. More on that later.
EXCLUSIVES:
Next up we need to talk about the exclusives. There are a surprising amount of them for this line, so this breakdown should help fans looking to collect them all. If you buy the two Toys R Us exclusives and the Amazon.com exclusive Harley it will give you the pieces to build “ultimate” Croc with the hoodie, which is how the characters has been shown in all of the pre-release publicity photos.
He is a look at the back of the first batch of exclusive cards showing how you can build “the ultimate Croc!”:
Here are the details on Croc’s hands. The main line figures Deadshot and Boomerang were supposed to come with the bare arms with the bare Croc hands. It looks like the factory switched things up and the bare arms (at least the one that comes with Deadshot) have the bandaged hands you see in the image above. Below you will see the solicitations photos for the Amazon.com Harley Quinn and she shows she is coming with the bare hands and not the bandaged hands you see above.
The two Toys R Us exclusives are hitting now. I was able to find both of them yesterday at a TRU in California.
Harley with Jacket and Mallet: Comes with Croc’s hoodie piece. To build the Ultimate Croc you will still need Batman piece in addition to the other six figures as the jacket piece that comes with the TRU Harley is just a slip-over piece and still requires the regular torso underneath. (Thanks to Jim Able for the heads-up on this).
Joker (Silver Jacket): Comes with Gun, a hidden accessory and hoodie Croc arms.
Amazon.com Exclusive Cocktail Dress Harley: Comes with bare Croc hands. This Harley is available to preorder now on Amazon.com but the listing says it will not be available until August 15th, 2016.
Walmart Exclusive Rick Flagg: No CnC part but will come with several weapons.
Walmart Exclusive Diablo: No CnC part, but will come with regular hands and flame hands.
Comic Con 2016 Exclusive 2-pack Joker and Panda Man:
This Comic-Con offering includes two 6-inch figures—The Joker™ and Panda Man. Both are highly articulated reproductions from the movie. Panda Man features flocking on his body and a rifle accessory. A Bat Mask is also included in the window box display package. The outer package looks like a cereal box. There is also a gold stand included with the set.

12″ Action Figures:
There’s also a line of 12″ figures that include Deadshot, Harley and Arkham pants Joker. Deadshot and Harley are hitting stores now.
I know that’s a lot of information for one article, but I wanted to get the word out there for fans that are planning to pick up the line before they start assembling their Killer Croc Collect and Connect pieces. That is all the figures in the line and where to find the exclusives.
One more thing I need to put out there that Mattel has never announced: There will be a Walmart exclusive Bat Cave coming soon that is part of the 6″ Mattel Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice action figure line. It was designed to fit in as part of that mass retail BvS line, but since the Multiverse figures are the same scale it will fit with those as well. I should retail for right around $100.
