Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth – Gold Saucer Minigames Guide

You've spent so many hours fighting monsters and other threats in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. How about spending more hours exploring a theme park to tackle various activities? Here's our guide to help you with all the rewards and minigames in Gold Saucer in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Likewise, please be reminded that this article contains minor spoilers.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Gold Saucer minigames and rewards guide

The Gold Saucer returns in all its glory in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. You get to visit this ridiculously over-the-top theme park during Chapter 8: All That Glitters. Here's a quick summary of what this journey entails:

  • Chapter 6: Fool's Paradise takes place in Costa del Sol. It's also where you partake in several minigames to obtain swimsutis and alternate outfits.
  • Meanwhile, Chapter 7: Those Left Behind leads you through the town and mines of Corel.
  • Upon riding the cable car to Gold Saucer, you won't be able to fast travel to other regions for quite some time. As such, you can tackle of side objectives before going to the theme park, or you can revisit certain areas later at the start of Chapter 9: The Planet Stirs.

The first time you visit Gold Saucer in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you're greeted by the manager, Dio, which also serves as an introduction to the 3D Brawler minigame. From there, you do some straightforward objectives, and then you get to check out the park's attractions. Here are a couple of tidbits that are worth noting:

  • You can use the Guide Moogle to fast travel to other areas of the theme park.
  • Successfully winning minigames nets you Gold Saucer Points (GP). This currency is used to purchase all sorts of rewards, which we'll get to later in our guide.
  • Minigames tend to have rewards based on a score tiering system. You can also retry these matches to amass GP based on the highest tier that you reached.

Wonderment Square: Queen's Blood Challenges

The Queen's Blood Challenges in the Gold Saucer are vastly different from straightforward matches due to unique modifiers or tasks. For instance, one match has you start with Cactrots that can enhance the power of cards that are already in play. In another match, the starting positions are reversed, which means you start at the right-hand side. That means you have to completely alter your deck to have cards that add pips to the left so you can open up tiles for play.

You can learn all about this card game in our Queen's Blood tips guide and best Queen's Blood cards guide.

Wonderment Square: 3D Brawler

3D Brawler is primarily about gauging your opponent's attack so you can dodge in the correct direction. Here's a quick summary:

  • Punches that come from your left require you to use the left thumbstick. Punches that come from your right, naturally, require you to use the right thumbstick.
  • Straight Jabs - Push the correct thumbstick upward (i.e. a straight jab coming from your left means that you push the left thumbstick upward).
  • Hooks - Push the thumbstick to the relative direction (i.e. an opponent's hook coming from your left means that you have to push the left thumbstick to the left).
  • Uppercuts - Uppercuts require you to push down on the thumbstick, so just watch for where the punch is coming from.
  • You can attack an opponent by pressing either L2 or R2. You have to wait for them to do a taunt move where they lower one of their arms. For example, if the right arm is lowered, you have to press R2 to hit them.
  • Once your Limit Gauge is full, you can press both L2 and R2 to unleash a Limit Break, which finishes the fight.

As an aside, we suggest pausing ever so often if you're having trouble with this Gold Saucer minigame in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Doing so lets you telegraph your foe's action so you can counter or dodge with ease.

Wonderment Square: G-Bike

The G-Bike minigame recreates Cloud's escape along the highways of Midgar. The objective is to defeat as many Shinra troopers as possible, getting a high score as you reach the finish line. You can do sword swings off to the sides by pressing either the Square or Circle buttons, as well as a Spinning Slash by pressing the Triangle button. You should time the usage of Spinning Slash properly, likely when there are multiple biker enemies surrounding you.

Chocobo Square: Chocobo Racing

A fan-favorite activity is back! Chocobo Racing becomes available as part of storyline progression near the end of Chapter 8. Then, come Chapter 9, you should be able to continue partaking in races as a jockey. The idea here is to collect power-ups that boost your top speed, add a Dash charge, or Speed Burst meter restoration. You should also avoid running into obstacles or other Chocobos, which would lower your top speed. You can learn more about how to win these matches easily by reading our best Chocobo Racing loadout guide.

Speed Square: Galactic Saviors

Galactic Saviors puts you in the role of a space fighter pilot as you destroy waves of enemy vessels. It's basically a shoot-em-up or shmup. Apart from your regular laser cannon, you also have a Proton Bomb that can be used by pressing the Triangle button. This launches a devastating projectile that can easily take out a chunk off a ship's health, though you have to take note of its recharge status. You may also activate a Restorative Charge by pressing the Circle button, though it has limited uses. Lastly, try to get bonus points by completely annihilating an enemy wave (i.e. all ships that are part of a squadron).

Battle Square: Musclehead Colosseum

The Musclehead Colosseum is yet another Gold Saucer minigame in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. It pits your team against numerous hostiles, and you have to win each round. Certain battles have special modifiers, too, so make sure your teammates are properly geared and well-prepared. We've got some tips for you in our combat guide.

Ghost Square: Haunted Hotel

The Haunted Hotel is the theme park's inn, complete with a creepy motif. There are no minigames here, save for one Queen's Blood opponent (which we don't want to spoil here).

Event Square: Opera

The Event Square is a special area since you won't get to do much during your initial visit. Rather, it's actually where you'll head off to come Chapter 12. There's a play that takes place in the opera, which happens to have multiple QTE sequences. You also get to bring a companion, but it's based on whoever has the highest affinity/relationship level. Skywheel Square: Skywheel

For those who've never played the original Final Fantasy 7 game, this Ferris Wheel is actually one of the most iconic spots in the campaign. It's essentially the culmination of the Gold Saucer "date," where unique conversations and interactions can happen between Cloud and his companion.

Gold Saucer rewards

Each Gold Saucer square has a vendor that has different wares that you can purchase by spending GP. These include:

  • Consumables like Turbo Ethers and Elixirs.
  • Powerful or legendary Queen's Blood cards.
  • Character Folios that give extra skill points, which you can use to unlock more perks.
  • Collectible items that can be displayed once you've completed Saga of the Seaside Inn.

That's everything you need to know about the Gold Saucer minigames in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Take your time and enjoy these activities.
