Five Nights At Freddy’s Movie Passes $200 Million Worldwide, Despite Second-Weekend Dropoff

The Five Nights at Freddy's movie has now cleared more than $200 million at the box office against a reported budget of $20 million. According to the latest box office numbers from Variety, the FNAF film earned another $19.4 million in the US for its second weekend to help push global figures to more than $217 million.

Most movies experience double-digit percent declines in box office results after the first weekend, and the FNAF movie was no different. Its second-weekend domestic result of $19.4 million was down 76% from its record-breaking $80 million debut.

In any event, though, the FNAF movie has now eclipsed $113 million in the US alone. Also worth noting is that the FNAF movie debuted in theaters and on Peacock at the same time, which could have played a role in its total box office performance. In fact, Variety quoted box office analysts as saying that the in-theater and on-demand simultaneous rollout for the FNAF definitely softened box office numbers for the second weekend in particular.
