Forza Horizon 2 is due out in two weeks, and in addition to the 200-plus cars already included with the game, Microsoft will be giving away a free DLC pack on launch day adding even more vehicles for you to drive. The Forza Horizon 2 Launch Bonus Car Pack, as it's called, consists of eight additional (and extremely varied) cars. Here's what it has in store for you: - 2003 Ford Focus RS
- 1997 Land Rover Defender 90
- 1993 Clio Williams
- 2015 Ford Mustang GT
- 1987 Buick Regal GNX
- 2012 Cadillac Escalade ESV
- 1968 Abarth 595 Esseesse
- 1956 Ford F-100
This free DLC pack will be available on September 30, the same day the game launches on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Microsoft didn't provide any indication for why these cars have been separated like this from those shipping on the disc. These aren't the only free cars Forza Horizon 2 players will be entitled to; provided you've played enough of a previous game in the Forza series (with the exception of the original), you'll be able to get up to five free cars. In addition to the free DLC, there are two DLC purchases you'll be able to make after picking up Horizon 2. The VIP Membership earns you in-game rewards twice as quickly and gets you the VIP Car Pack (2012 Lamborghini Urus, 2014 Tesla Model S, 1967 Ferrari 330 P4, 1949 Mercury Coupe, and the 2013 Donkervoort D8 GTO), unspecified in-game gifts, access to special multiplayer events, and some kind of "in-game recognition." This is priced at $20, while Forza 5 VIP members get a discount that brings its price down to $10. There's also the $25 Car Pass, which gets you six different DLC packs that will be released monthly beginning in October. Each of these packs will consist of five cars, and by buying the Car Pass, you'll receive a bonus vehicle in the 2010 Noble M600. That's a lot of additional purchases to decide on in addition to the game. Fortunately, you'll be able to try out the game for yourself before it's released, as a demo of the Xbox One version is now available for download.
