INDIANAPOLIS (May 9, 2019) – GreenLight Collectibles is embracing their love for nostalgia by inking a new partnership with the iconic Garbage Pail Kids trading cards, produced by The Topps Company. These two collectible powerhouses are coming together to create the ultimate diecast vehicle and trading sticker card combination which neither fan nor collector could ever pass up.

Launched in 1985, the Garbage Pail Kids trading card brand rose to fame with their parodies of the Cabbage Patch Kids, who were popular during the same time. Each sticker card featured a GPK enduring an unfortunate, yet humorous fate, while entertainingly connecting their name to their ironic destiny. Since their initial release, the brand became a pop-culture phenomenon. Three decades later, Topps continues to create and add new kids to their continuously growing character roster.

“When Greenlight was first exploring partnering with Topps & GPK we quickly learned the demographics of GPK collectors were identical to that of GreenLight’s thus making a perfect match to bring these two collector worlds together,” stated Cale Hotton, the Director of Licensing and Product Development for GreenLight.

This collaboration will kick off with 54010 1:64 Garbage Pail Kids Series 1. This six-piece series includes a diecast vehicle and a peel off sticker that’s on the packaging. Five out of the six sticker designs will be past GPK cards, and one will be a GreenLight exclusive. GreenLight has commissioned famed GPK artist Joe Simko to design 54010-F, Clutch Clint. The vehicles will also be decorated in a GPK theme that relates to the sticker it comes with.

54010 1:64 Garbage Pail Kids Series 1 is projected to hit the shelves this upcoming July.
