Halo 5: Guardians' multiplayer Beta is getting new maps, weapons, and modes, developer 343 Industries has announced. In each round of the new multiplayer mode, Breakout, each Spartan only has one life. The first team to win five rounds wins the match, which you can play on either the Crossfire map, or its variant, Trench. The new maps, Regret and Eden, will be added to the the Slayer playlist. Regret is a remix of Truth, and Eden is a remix of Empire, both of which were included in the first week of Beta. "Additionally, you voted, and we answered: You’ll be able to wield the Hydra MLRS, a brand-new weapon to the Halo universe, while slaying on Regret," 343 Industries said. On Twitter, Halo 5 multiplayer designer Quinn DelHoyo added that the Light Rifle will make its debut in this update as well. The rifle "has received some modifications since Halo 4" and is now "more of a Tier 2 weapon," DelHoyo said. According to a post to Xbox Wire, the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta will get even more new content next week. In other Halo 5 news, Microsoft and 343 Industries recently announced $100 and $250 collector's editions of the game. For more on Halo 5, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
