Alicia Keys and One Direction will perform at the 2012 MTV VMAs!

At long last, we're unlocking the Pandora's box that contains the 2012 VMA nominees! Finally, I can reveal the VMA secrets (I love you too much to keep secrets from you!) I've been dying to share! Secrets like... One Direction and Alicia Keys will perform at the 2012 MTV VMAs! AND One Direction is nominated for two VMAs! Speaking of VMA nominees, hopefully Rihanna's planning on coming to the show that night, because she's nominated for FIVE VMAs, including Video Of The Year for "We Found Love." AT ATTENTION, Rihanna Navy!

Rihanna shares the top-nominee honors with Drake, who's also nominated for five Moonmen. (October's very own may be September's very own too.) Katy Perry's nabbed four VMA nominations (no big surprise there, as she spent the year breaking records), including a Video Of The Year nomination for "Wide Awake."

Coldplay, Nicki Minaj, and M.I.A. also have three VMA nominations to write home about. The ingenious Frank Ocean's VMA nominations total three -- which is the same number of nominations VMA veteran Beyonce earned this year, while Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch The Throne collaboration also pulled in three nods. Kanye's got two VMA nominations of his own, as does Justin Bieber, Gotye, Chris Brown, Linkin Park, and fun.. Lana Del Rey earned two VMA nominations -- not bad for a girl whose name you probably didn't know at last year's VMAs. EDM heavyweights Skrillex and Avicii were also nominated for two VMAS apiece (EDM devotees, you'll notice that for the first time ever, the VMAs have a Best Electronic Dance Music Video category). And on that new-new tip, Carly Rae Jepsen, The Wanted, and A$AP Rocky each have one VMA nomination apiece.

And some of Buzzworthy's favorite VIPs like Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Gym Class Heroes, Adele, Rise Against, Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino and Kelly Clarkson each earned one VMA nomination. (Not on the list? Krispy Kreme, Kitty Purry or Ton Do-Nguyen of Beyonce "Countdown" Snuggie fame. And none for Glen Coco. Maybe next year.)
