At SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Hot Wheels announced New Jersey resident Luis Rodriguez and his 2JetZ custom car as the winner of the Hot Wheels Legends Tour, a 15-stop tour that scoured the nation in search of a custom car worthy of being made into a 1:64 die-cast toy. The tour was launched in celebration of the brand’s 50th anniversary.
The 2JetZ, a new age hot rod, will be immortalized into a Hot Wheels die-cast and join the iconic Garage of Legends!
The custom car was selected by a team of judges including Hot Wheels designers, car-loving celebrities like Jay Leno and automotive influencers like Magnus Walker and Rich Rawlings out of more than 3,600 cars that competed for this opportunity across 15 cities in the U.S.
Rodriguez drew inspiration for this new-aged hot rod from a fighter plane in honor of American veterans. With more than 600 horsepower and a driver’s seat in the middle of the vehicle, the car is crafted with a focus on high-performance and high-end design.
This is the first time Hot Wheels took inspiration from its fans to turn their car into a collectable item sold globally!
