Miley's brand-new song is a total 180 from the French fry orgy of her VMA-nominated "We Can't Stop." Speed it up a little and it could've been total oons-oons dance floor Cher-worthy, but as it stands now, "Wrecking Ball" is a stark naked Natalie Imbruglia sob fest with Demi Lovato's "Skyscraper" crisp, cold air of despair. I am made of glass and paper over here, and GOD DAMN YOU, Miley Cyrus, I am not emotionally prepared for this pop demolition.

On one hand, we have a song of utter gravitas and off-the-charts seismic magnitude on our hands. On the other hand, WHO DID THIS TO YOU, MILEY? WHO? DID. THIS. TO. YOU?

"Wrecking Ball" should come with airbag and a bottle of whiskey, because I'm bawling in a heap of broken dreams and cheap mascara. Where did twerk mania, tongue out, raver buns '80s "Miami Vice" nights BANGERZ Miley go? Will she be at the VMAs? I'm not ready for this level of pathos. So here are the GIFs.
