Yesterday was release day for Invincible Iron Man, the latest release of HeroClix from WizKids.
Invincible Iron Man
I was concerned that the main theme was too close to the Iron Man 3 cast we got just this summer. As the source material overlaps, that was to be expected. To avoid disappointment in getting the same characters too often, I stopped buying the IM3 pieces the moment I found out about this set. I had also pulled multiple Pepper Potts figures. But enough of that, lets get to what’s in this set.
First, the set is available in both the standard 5 figure blind boosters and single figure packs. The single packs reuse the same sculpts as the main set, but have different dials. The singles are very price point friendly at 3$ while the 5 packs tend to run about 12$.

As for characters, of course, we have Iron Man. In several armors across the set. The chase figures are also armor variations of Iron Man. Tony, Pepper and Rescue are here as well. And we get the first version of Happy Hogan!

Then we have the Wrecking Crew. Many of them were turned into the Mighty during the Fear Itself event set of HeroClix and now we get the normal versions of the characters. There are also some great duo figures with multiple characters on them.

And finally, every so often WizKids holds a poll and allows fans to vote one of a dozen potential characters into an upcoming set. This set gives us the most recent poll winner, Death’s Head!
028-Deaths-Head
This set also includes the Rings of the Mandarin! Randomly inserted in the 5 figure boosters you might find a plastic ring which represents one of his 10 rings. These can be used in the game for a variety of effects depending on the ring. If you participate in organized play events, you can get this stand too.

Hoping that everyone finds something to like in this set.
