Not to sound like a creeper, but we're a little bit infatuated with with Jessie Ware. (Like, the words "girl crush" and "fangirl" just do NOT cut it.) We've "buzzed" about her, named her one of our favorite Breakthrough Artists for 2012, and added her to our "Artists to Watch in 2013" list. It also doesn't hurt that her debut disc, Devotion, earned rave reviews from the Guardian, the NME, and was nominated for the British Mercury Prize. So you can imagine how we shot through the roof when we heard that Jessie had covered our favorite pop song of the year: Rihanna's "Diamonds." And SHE DID IT SO AMAZINGLY WELL! But no surprise there.

Singing on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge, Jessie's take on "Diamonds" is minimal, accompanied only by simple electronic drums and a wispy guitar line. The track easily showcases Jessie's sultry, Sade-esque vocals while her male backup singer gently chants the hook's refrain, "Shine bright like a diamond." Not sure what y'alls plans are for tonight, but in a perfect world, mine would involve some delicious pad Thai, candles, and Jessie's Rihanna cover playing on repeat for at least three hours. Extra points if we can throw in a cute boyf!
