In Episode 3 of Julius’ Jumbo Corner we check out the EntertainmentEarth.com exclusive Grand Moff Tarkin Star Wars Jumbo Action Figure from Gentle Giant Ltd. This Entertainment Earth Exclusive Grand Moff Tarkin Jumbo Vintage “Kenner” Figure, inspired by events in Star Wars: A New Hope, represents the latest in a series of Jumbo action figures spotlighting the entirety of the Star Wars saga.
While Tarkin was never made as part of the vintage Kenner action figure line, he was an important character that deserved a figure and now Gentle Giant corrects a 40+ year old oversite with their 12″ Jumbo line of figures. Gentle Giant Ltd. has been branching out from the established “Original 96” vintage Kenner figures and expanded their line to include updates to original figures (Luke X-Wing Pilot with removable helmet), figures from more recent Star Wars movies and TV shows (The Mandalorian, Darth Maul, Book of Boba Fett), and characters that should have gotten a figure, but never did, like Tarkin and the upcoming Sandtrooper.
Featuring classically styled sculpting, details, and including a removable command staff (the same as Admiral Ackbar’s), this poseable figure is styled to resemble the Star Wars figures of old, but at an epic 12-inch scale. Tarkin uses the same torso, legs and left arm as the recently released Imperial Commander Jumbo. It is manufactured to exacting standards and comes packaged in a resealable clamshell blister card.
