The rumors were right. Swedish developer Avalanche Studios today announced, through a Game Informer cover reveal, that Just Cause 3 is indeed in development. It's coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in 2015. The most recent Just Cause game was 2010's Just Cause 2.

Game Informer editors played the game for several hours, and report that that its parachute and grapple mechanics have been improved. There is also a brand-new wingsuit. In terms of setting, Just Cause 3 will take place in a fictional Mediterranean archipelago.

Just Cause 3 is in development at Avalanche's New York City office. 2015 will be a big year for Avalanche, as the developer also plans to launch Mad Max for consoles and PC next year.
