Our 3rd booster of this Justice League Unlimited set of HeroClix gives us the star of that great episode, “The Greatest Story Never Told”, featuring our pal, “I am not Green Lantern” Booster Gold. In this booster we got Flash(common), Amazo (common), Vixen (common), Green Arrow (uncommon) and Booster Gold (super-rare). Another great booster. We got our first Super rare. we also got our first repeat. As I mention in part 2, this is a very common thing, especially at the lowest rarity. We will see more pieces we already have as we get father along.
I know we are mostly looking at character selection, availability and sculpts in these articles, but I have to once again point out stuff from the show pulled into the game. This piece which looks like the Flash and is called the Flash is a representation of when Lex took over Wally’s body in “The Great Brain Robbery”. There is an equivalent piece of Lex which is Wally which we could get later. Flash-Lex here has powers named “Lex, you are having a hard day”, “I can at least learn the Flash’s secret identity”, and “I have no idea who this is”. I love Green Arrow’s sculpt with the arrow drawn, ready to fire.
Amazo is one of those great characters who starts as a threat and comes back as a bigger threat later in the series. Mattel gave us at least 3 versions. Here is WizKids 1st, a basic grey. There is also a golden version which I did not pull.
As did Mattel, WizKids took advantage of the unique art style of the DC Animated universe and does a great job here giving us two distinct characters with one sculpt. We will see more of this.
Finally Booster Gold does not disappoint. Booster’s named powers include “Crowd Control” and “I’m not Green Lantern, I’m Booster Gold”. And if you look closely, you an see Skeets in the sculpt, right above Booster’s knee. Mattel gave us a black and gold version first, followed later by blue and yellow version. Here WizKids gives us a gold and navy color scheme.
