Kanye West enlisted "Otis" co-star and "Parks and Recreation" funnyman Aziz Ansari to work with him on his buzzed-about film project, "Cruel Summer."

Having already premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last month, the film was shot in Qatar earlier this year and, according to Ansari, will eventually get screenings all over the United States. That is, once Yeezy can find the right spaces for the seven screens required to view the film.

The film ties into another highly anticipated Kanye release, the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation. Several of the artists on the album appear in the film alongside the comedian. " 'Cruel Summer,' yes, yeah, so I just shot a very small cameo in this," Ansari told MTV News. "It's basically, Kanye West did this movie where he shot it for something called a seven-screen experience where there's seven screens, five across, one up, one below. And Kid Cudi's kind of the star of it.

"And I'm in it, very briefly," he continued. "He was basically like, 'Hey, do you want to go to Qatar for a day and shoot a thing in this movie? It's gonna be on seven screens and you can do whatever you want.' And I was like, 'Why not do that?' And I was available, so I went and did it."

Like everyone else who wasn't at Cannes, Ansari only knows what is in the film based on what he's heard or read. He has yet to see the 30-minute short for himself. "I was only there for a day, so I know as much as has been said. But you got to admire the guy for being like, 'I'm going to shoot a movie on seven screens' and [doing] it like a month later. He told me that, and I was like, 'Alright' and then he did," he said. "It's done. He showed it at Cannes. That's pretty crazy.

"He said he was going to add more of my scene in there when they play it in New York," Ansari added, noting that he has "to install the seven screens" for future screenings here in the States.
