Kindle Fire comes to GameStop

Speciality retailer adds Amazon tablet line to electronics stable; $100 in-store credit up for grabs with trade in of original model.

GameStop has added a new electronics device to its growing stable of offerings: Amazon's Kindle Fire. Beginning immediately, the specialty retailer will sell the 7" Kindle Fire HD ($200) in all 4,400 of its locations in the United States.

Gamers in the market for an 8.9" Kindle Fire HD ($300) or a 7" regular Kindle Fire ($160) will need to do a little more hunting, as these models are available only in "select" GameStop outlets. Participating locations are available through GameStop's website.

GameStop is also holding two special promotions surrounding the Kindle Fire. All who purchase any new Kindle Fire product through the retailer by January 31, 2013 will receive a $25 Amazon gift card. Additionally, GameStop is offering in-store credit of "up to" $100 when shoppers trade in an original Kindle Fire. Full trade-in details are available at GameStop's special landing page.
