Lady Gaga's new promo visual has got us totally ready to plug into "ARTPOP."
Two days before Lady Gaga officially unveiled the single art for "Applause," the lead single off of her upcoming third studio album, ARTPOP, the VMA performer tweeted out the above promo visual with the caption, "1ST SINGLE FROM ARTPOP COMES AUG. 19 #24DAYS." Even though Mother Monster tried to dispel the notion that her album will have only one specific look behind it, we obviously can't help but obSESS over what aesthetic she'll draw from now that we FINALLY have some material to pour over. Our best guess is either "Nose Ring-stravaganza!" or "Nearly Naked All The Time Always" à la Rihanna. For all we know, Gaga was casually twerking on that motherboard while being photographed!
In any case, we still love -- LOVE -- the above visual. Seeing as how Gaga has described ARTPOP, due out Nov. 11, as a multimedia experience that will feature an app -- perhaps similar to the concept behind Björk's 2011 release Biophilia -- it only makes sense that she styles herself all cybernetic. OH, WAIT. Could this totally be some kind of "evolution of the past" callback to those high-tech stunna shades she used to wear back in 2008 and in the "Poker Face" video? What other blasts from the past could this twitpic foretell? The return of a now Bluetooth-enabled disco stick?? Guest vocals on "Applause" from a newly cyborg-armed Colby O'Donis?!?! ONLY #21DAYS.
