Applause, Monsters! Applause, haters! Fall back, queens. Lady Gaga opened the 2013 VMAs by performing "Applause" live for the very first time ever!

Fully recovered from her tour-ending hip injury, Gaga was back in fighting shape as fully evidenced by her zero body fat in the "Applause" video. She brought the clip to life at the VMAs as an utter fantasia of musical theater (BECAUSE ARTPOP!) meets "Cabaret" meets "Singing In The Rain" minus Fred Astaire -- and believe me, Monsters, the theater kid in me squee'd with delight.

Gaga managed to snatch EVERY SINGLE WIG in existence. She channeled Gloria Swanson, Grace Jones, Liza Minnelli, the late, great Judy Garland, snatching wigs like it was "Supermarket Sweeps: Wig Shop Edition," and now every wig ever is gone. Put your hands together, make them touch, and now wave goodbye. All your wigs are belong to Gaga.
