Lady Gaga teams with UNICEF, meets with children in Peru.
They don't call her Mother Monster for nothin'. Clearly Lady Gaga's a busy pop star, making music and writhing around in sheet cakes and whatnot, but she also makes time to give back! Gaga and her Born This Way Foundation have teamed with the United Nations and UNICEF to spearhead a global youth empowerment program where Gaga will visit those in need to offer assistance to impoverished areas and orphanages.

One of Gaga's first stops was Lima, Peru, where she visited the Ventanilla School and met with students who, as Gaga described, showed her how they "acquire skills in class to gather internet information and create 'menu' or 'business pamphlets.'" Gaga also went on to describe her mission statement on her LittleMonsters site: "I have teamed up with the United Nations and UNICEF to begin a worldwide Youth Empowerment Initiative. On behalf of my fans and The Born This Way Foundation i will be traveling the world to visit and assist families, orphanages, and communities in need. During each visit I seek to empower the youth to be brave in their struggles, and find strength in their ability to persevere. Here on littlemonsters.com you can follow our initiative and find out ways you can get involved." In sum, we appreciate the impact your epic snarl face had on this earth, Gaga, but your new UNICEF initiative is so much better. #Props.
