Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga Pre-Orders Come With The Coolest Steelbook Case

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be the biggest Lego Star Wars adventure yet when it launches later this year, spanning all nine Skywalker saga films, including The Rise of Skywalker. No release date has officially been announced other than "late 2020," but the game's release date may have leaked during May the 4th celebrations, when an October 20, 2020 release date was shown in a video on the official Star Wars YouTube channel and later removed. While we wait for an official release date announcement, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is already up for pre-order, and you'll probably want to place your order at Best Buy when you see the retailer's pre-order bonus.

Best Buy is offering an exclusive steelbook case with all console pre-orders of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. The silver hardcover case portrays Han Solo encased in carbonite, referencing the event in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The striking steelbook is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One versions of the game, the only difference being the Nintendo Switch case has a thinner border.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga aims to cover a lot of ground, spanning nine films and packing in nearly 500 characters. Whether you've played older Lego Star Wars games or are new to the franchise, the Skywalker Saga will be the new definitive edition to own, as levels from older games have been completely redesigned. The game itself is non-linear, taking an open-world (or open-galaxy) approach to the saga. That means you can start playing the game at any point in the saga; for example, you can choose to start playing from A New Hope, and the world in the game will exist as it did at that point in the story. Alternatively, you could jump straight into The Last Jedi or Rise of Skywalker, which will be appearing in Lego form for the first time. With new characters, cutscenes, and a new combo system for combat, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be a brand-new experience for both longtime fans of the series and new players. Like all Lego games, it'll include couch co-op multiplayer that's family-friendly and accessible to new gamers.
