Liam Hemsworth kicked off the "Hunger Games" mall tour in Los Angeles over the weekend, much to the delight and fancy of "HG" fans everywhere. The Aussie actor and his co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence were greeted by screaming fans who were anxious to catch a glimpse of the big three.
Fans' enthusiasm to meet the cast and see the film is matched by Hemsworth's own excitement about "Hunger Games." "I saw the film for the first time last week. I was pretty nervous to see it the first time, and it's turned out unbelievable," he told MTV News at Cosmopolitan's Fun Fearless Awards event in New York City. "It's honestly one of the most powerful films I've seen and I'm really looking forward to everyone seeing it."
While fans will have to wait a few more weeks to see the movie, they are turning out in droves to meet the actors before it hits the big screen. And Hemsworth finds their enthusiasm quite thrilling. "It's pretty exciting. We had young girls with tears in their eyes," he added. "It's exciting to see the passion. It's cool."
Hemsworth will appear at a number of the mall tour stops over the next few days, including Atlanta on March 6, Scottsdale on March 7 and the final stop on March 10 in Seattle, where he'll be reunited with Lawrence and Hutcherson.
The highly anticipated, Gary Ross-directed "Hunger Games" opens on March 23. Tickets for the movie are already breaking records previously held by the third installment of that other beloved franchise "The Twilight Saga," "Eclipse."
