Meet the hitmakers who penned Miley Cyrus' "Party In The U.S.A."
All it took was a dream and a cardigan... and a team of three seriously talented songwriters and producers to pen Miley Cyrus' monstrous hit "Party In The U.S.A." In case you haven't done your homework, we'll gently remind you that Miley's smash hit was co-written by super producer Dr. Luke, a then relatively unknown Jessie J, and the inimitable Claude Kelly (who has also penned some of our other faves like Karmin's "Brokenhearted" and Jessie J's "Price Tag"). But before Miley sang "Party In The U.S.A.," there was Jessie J's demo version, which is (as you might imagine) SO SICK and rife with riffs only superhuman singers can nail. Oh, now you wanna hear it?? Yeah, well lucky for y'all, Claude has unleashed a small edit of the original demo for us to panic over.

Claude Kelly released the demo on Twitter, complete with a "thank you" for Miley: "s/o to @mileyCyrus for giving @jessieJ her first HIT record record. and starting off a amazing journey for us all. #popthangz." (Aww, see? Always remember to thank your coworkers/collaborators!)
While the demo itself doesn't divert much from the final version, the only true difference is a slight lyrical change to the hook. Well that, and Jessie J's out-of-control runs, which we're still not over. So there you have it, folks! The origins of Miley's smash hit, laid out right before your eyes. And to close, we'd like to extend a hearty thank-You to Miley, Jessie, Claude, and Dr. Luke! Fourth of July celebrations just wouldn't be the same without "Party In The U.S.A."!
