Listen To Lady Gaga’s ‘No Floods’ Demo, Tweeted In Support Of Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

Lady Gaga cheers up New York City with an old demo called "No Floods."

A native New Yorker, Lady Gaga has been acting really, really torn up about Hurricane Sandy's rampage on her hometown. We totally sympathize with her (NYC is our home, too!!). In fact, Mother Monster was so regretful she couldn't be in NYC to help with relief efforts, she tweeted out a remarkably on-point demo written when she was 16 called "No Floods."

Although the track's been making the internet rounds for a few years now, we feel it's especially meaningful given NYC's post-flood gloom. In a message to her fans, Gaga tweeted, "I wrote this song when I was 16. So weird to hear it now because of hurricane. 'NO FLOODS' hope this will cheer u up." (We're trying not to associate it with TLC's "No Scrubs" or "Waterfalls." Similar titles, right??)

Despite its vaguely derivative title (we'll overlook -- she WAS 16 when she wrote it, after all), "No Floods" is a vocally raw, yet touching track that comes in at about 4 and a half minutes. Accompanied by a pounding piano and minimal electric guitar, Gaga belts out the remarkably on-point lyrics, "No matter lightning or thunder/ Buckets of rainwater/ You can't flood this town." After posting, Gaga then tweeted, "I'll be there as soon as I can to help my old neighborhood. I'm on tour + can't let my fans down. I want to help with my hands with all of u." You could never let us down, Gagz!! We feel your NYC love from across the world.
