Marvel Announces Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Disney Plus Release Date

Marvel has announced that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be available to stream on Disney+ starting February 1. The sequel originally hit theaters in mid-November last year.

In GameSpot's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever review, writer Mason Downey gave the film an 8/10, saying it "provides a beautiful, if uneven, tribute to one of the MCU's best heroes." Black Panther: Wakanda Forever started production in 2021, nearly one year after star Chadwick Boseman died from colon cancer at the age of 43. At the time, Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed that Boseman's role of King T'Challa would not be recast, and in fact the character would be retired from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Downey says as a result, the movie "tries to be a few too many things at once" but is also packed with "amazing scenes and iconic shots."

Although the movie is still pulling in audiences at the worldwide box office, pretty soon you won't have to go anywhere to check out the film. Domestically, the movie has become the second highest grossing Marvel movie of the last three years, behind only Spider-Man: No Way Home.
