This month we get the second figure in Mattel’s “Club Black Freighter” Watchmen subscription – Dr. Manhanttan.

The doctor is in. Is he in this dimension? That’s another story. This decidedly dispassionate physicist works for the government, but lives outside the normal realm of space and time. Fully articulated, this first-ever 6” comic-book style figure, one of six core members, arrives with a yellow base with black Watchmen logo in special Watchmen book-type packaging. Doctor Manhattan also includes an original Watchmen “oversized” trading card with all-new art and character bio.

This figure is one of six in a limited series inspired by one of the all-time greatest comics and will include all six Watchmen team members by year’s end. When the series is complete, the iconic graffiti-style Watchmen logo will be revealed when all packages are placed side-by-side and the Doomsday clock will count down to zero when viewed from the front.

Dr. Manhattan uses the standard DCUC buck body, which ends up being a little short for the character.  He has a new head and new feet. Fortunately this is the black briefs version and not the “commando” version.  He comes in the same sort of book clam shell packages that we saw with Rorschach.  The Doomsday clock on the front of the package is set for a different time, closer to midnight than the Rorschach package.  The count down will most likely help us put the packages in the correct order so we can see the larger images on the sides of the boxes.

Dr. Manhattan does not have any accessories, but does come with a Watchmen logo stand.  Dr. Manhattan also comes with the oversized profile card.
