Mayday Parade Will Release Their Fourth Full-Length Album On Fearless Records

Mayday Parade will release their fourth album on Fearless Records

Mayday Parade have announced plans to return to Fearless Records for their fourth studio album.

Emo-pop outfit Mayday Parade have made a career of crafting soaring, bleeding heart anthems and dark yet melodic concept albums. The Tallahassee quintet released their debut record, A Lesson In Romantics in 2007 on indie punk label Fearless Records, earned their road stripes on the Vans Warped Tour, then released their second record, Anywhere But Here jointly on Fearless and Atlantic two years later. The boys later reconvened to release their third self-titled album independently in 2011. Now, after striking out on their own, Buzzworthy can officially announce that Mayday Parade will return to the studio for a fourth full-length album, once again releasing under the Fearless Records roster.

Although little of the new album has officially been written, Mayday Parade lead singer Derek Sanders was audibly excited to get the ball rolling when we spoke with him this week: "We're about to get together in a week to start officially writing as a band," revealed Sanders. "We're going to spend about a month at a beach house in Florida writing together. We've all been working on ideas." No official recording location has been nailed down yet, though the band's playing with the idea of returning to his old recording haunts. "We did our first and third album with Kenneth and Zack Odom (ZK Productions) in Atlanta, and I think there's a pretty strong possibility we'll go back there."

Now officially back on Fearless Records for their upcoming record, Sanders was quick to praise the Mayday's relationship with their on-again label: "With a lot of bands, you hear them complain about their labels. You hear these horror stories. But we have nothing bad to say about Fearless. We did the major label thing a little bit, but it was a weird time for us. We didn't really enjoy that experience. I think we operate [best] being completely in charge creatively of the music that we make. That's why we started this band seven years ago."

But recording another Mayday album isn't the only thing Derek's gearing up for: in addition to recording together again, this spring Mayday Parade's set to tour with All Time Low, Pierce The Veil, and You Me At Six. "We've known Pierce The Veil, All Time Low, and You Me At Six for a long time, so it's going to be amazing to hang with all those people again. It's going to be the biggest tour we've ever done."
