Software giant files application with United States Patent & Trademark Office for "game software."
What with Gears of War, Halo, and Fable, Microsoft has a number of prized franchises on its hands, and that portfolio may be set to grow if a new trademark application is any indication.
On March 1, Microsoft filed a trademark application with the United States Patent & Trademark Office for "Adera." The mark is to be used for "game software," namely an "online computer game."
No further information regarding the trademark application was made available, and as of press time, Microsoft had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment.
It is not clear if Microsoft's trademark application has any connection with the 2009 movie Adera. That film focused on the efforts of an Ethiopian woman living in South Africa struggling to support her children and to return to them.
