First there was one. Then there were two. And as of October 15, there will be 150 dumbdinos. Well, 150 comic strips of 2DumbDinos, to be exact.
Since its debut in March 2018, the online comic strip created by artist and toy designer Nathan Hamill and writer Eric Filipkowski has done much more than get to its milestone 150th strip, or to build a strange universe for dinosaurs Dingus and Scumbag — it’s also attracted an impressive fan base. Two of its fans are guitar-making legend Dave Petillo, whose family owned guitar business has created instruments for Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel; and Stranger Things actor Gaten Matarazzo and his band Work in Progress.
Spurred by his love for 2DumbDinos, Dave Petillo composed a “theme song” in the style of ’90s TV openings. After sharing it with Nathan, Eric wrote lyrics for it — and Gaten and his band recorded the theme. As 2DumbDinos gets ready to celebrate its milestone 150th-strip anniversary, we’re excited to share this new video — in which 2DumbDinos take on nostalgia television:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoNg-Pqmyy8
The video comes as Nathan and Eric are developing a brand-new animated series called Kitty Ghobo – for which actors Jason Ritter, Steve Bannos and a promising new talent named Mark Hamill have recorded voices.
