Square Enix has announced that its free-to-play Just Cause game for mobile devices is being discontinued before its official global release. Just Cause Mobile was announced at The Game Awards 2020 and promised a story campaign with co-op missions and competitive multiplayer. The game was made using Unreal Engine 4 and billed itself as a mobile extension of the over-the-top series, allowing players to zoom around using a parachute, a wingsuit, and a grapple hook. The game's website and Twitter account have now been taken offline, as Square Enix is pulling the game and opting to not see it through until release. An archived version of the game's website states that regional early access to Just Cause Mobile closed in February this year.
