Beyonce says "Bow Down." We say how low?
We know you're probably tucked into bed right now and juuuust about to tune in to some requisite Sunday night TV, but you should probably put it on pause, like, immediately. Yes, we realize that's committing Sunday night blasphemy, but we wouldn't ask if there weren't a REALLY good reason. A reason like Beyoncé posting a brand-new song on her website (OUT OF NOWHERE) called "Bow Down/I Been On." Funny, we've been telling everyone to "Bow Down" to Queen B for the past million years! Clearly we're very ahead of the game.
Listen to Beyoncé's "Bow Down/ I Been On" after the jump.
Set to a menacing, AGGRO beat, the Hit-Boy-produced "Bow Down" has Beyoncé singing about Houston (H-Town) and how SHE'S THE DAMN BEST. "I took my time to live my life, but don't think I'm just his little wife/ Don't get it twisted, get it twisted/ This is my s***.../ Bow down, bitches." After about a minute, the song segues into a second act, "I Been On," a track Bey is rumored to have worked on with R&B duo Planet VI, and one fans may recognize from a tour ad for the U.K. leg of the "Mrs. Carter Show" World Tour. Showcasing Beyoncé's diced and sliced vocals, "I Been On" is a total 180 from Bey's signature R&B styling -- a sonic choice that fits with "Bow Down's" no BS message. Are these the humblest songs on the planet? Perhaps not, but if one person is allowed to sing about how they're the effing bomb, it's the lady who quite literally shut down the Super Bowl with her halftime show performance. So, say it with me y'all: BOW DOWN!!!
