Bobby Womack and Lana Del Rey: a match made in soul heaven.
Lana Del Rey's been doing her own thing during her rise to stardom, but the "Video Games" singer plays well with others, too. She joins ageless soul man Bobby Womack on the jazzy "Dayglo Reflection," a duet that merges her retro feel with futuristic, cut-up percussion and a moody synthesizer string section. Gorillaz mastermind Damon Albarn co-produced the track, which would explain why it's fresher than the Whole Foods salad bar.

"The only thing I ever dreamed is you and me," Del Rey sings during her sultry appearance before hitting a striking high note. Mr. Womack himself kicks off the track with his raw, throaty vocals, which arrive with 68 years' worth of soul power. Having worked with everyone from Sam Cooke to Aretha Franklin, he's in a position to weigh in on the often controversial young singer: "She's one of a kind. I've never sung with a girl like that before," Womack told NME recently. Haters to the left. It won't be Del Rey's last collab: She's also done a song with A$AP Rocky, "Ridin,'" which the rapper is saving for his upcoming LongLiveA$AP album.
"Dayglo Reflection" is the latest from on Womack's The Bravest Man in the Universe, his first non-covers studio set in nearly two decades. The album's due on XL on June 12.
