Frank Ocean teams up with Andre 3000 on "Pink Matter." It's like Christmas in July.

The Internet pretty much exploded when singer-songwriter Frank Ocean surprised us all by dropping his hotly, hotly, hotly anticipated (we can't stress that enough) debut LP, channel ORANGE, on iTunes a week in advance, which means we get to drown ourselves in the expansive gorgeousness of Marvin Gaye and Prince's love child earlier than expected. But separate from that release, Frank also posted a stream of one of the standout tracks from the record -- his collab with Outkast's Andre 3000, "Pink Matter." Genius, meet genius.

Reportedly, Big Boi was also asked to appear on the track, but ultimately, the final version only includes Andre. Fortunately, Andre and Frank work in perfect synchronicity just fine on their own. The song is minimalist, spaced-out alt-R&B, expertly mixing Frank's typically vulnerable, philosophical lyrics with the witty, verbose, elasticine rhymes that made Andre a legend. Frank's emotive falsetto induces chills when he sings "Close my eyes and fall into you" -- then in a huskier tone, he goes galactic on us, asking "What if the sky and the stars are for show/And the aliens are watching live from the purple matter?" Andre, on the other hand, is all about the body, quipping, "If models are made for modeling, thick girls are made for cuddling." Oh, Andre. Bet you say that to all of the girls.

But "Pink Matter" is a song about the tension between earthly and spiritual pleasures, and it's rich source material that makes the pleasure all the listener's, who gets the two-for-the-price-of-one sonic gift of preternaturally talented artists coming together on what's destined to be an iconic entry in Frank's growing roster of brilliant songs.
