New Song: Kendrick Lamar Featuring Drake, ‘Poetic Justice’ (NSFW)

Kendrick Lamar and Drake go "coffeehouse" with their rhymes on new track "Poetic Justice."

As the release date for Compton MC Kendrick Lamar's major label debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d city, grows closer and closer, more songs are starting to surface to make us believe that this record is bound to be an absolute smash. "Poetic Justice," a slowed-down collabo with Drake, is yet another piece of evidence for our case. If you want a rapping heartbreaker, Drizzy is definitely your guy. (Also, it doesn't hurt that both of them can rhyme really well, in addition to all that handsome dude stuff.) This is UNDENIABLY some romance music... just sayin'.

OK, before we go any further, we have to talk about the song's title. For those who don't know, it refers to the 1993 romance-drama starring Janet Jackson and 2Pac. Hear us out, but we kinda think the title also parallels a modern-day tale -- the one where a West Coast rapper and a mega-huge pop star flirt and even record together. We think maybe "Poetic Justice" is totally about Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar. Book it, Hollywood!

As for the track itself, which also samples Janet Jackson's "Anytime, Anyplace," Kendrick and Drake rhyme, "Everybody else basic/ You live life on an everyday basis/ With poetic justice, poetic justice/ If I told you that a flower bloomed in a dark room, would you trust it?" For the record, we trust Kendrick 100 percent. We also trust that the rest of good kid, m.A.A.d city is going to be amazing when it drops on Oct. 23.
