Solange Knowles is back with a new slow jam, "Lovers In The Parking Lot."
We have a not-so-secret secret to share: Even though we looove Beyoncé and worship the Instagram she Instagrams on, we have a giant soft spot for her younger sister, the multifaceted singer, DJ, and style icon Solange Knowles. Like, they're not even worth comparing -- they're like apples and oranges...turkey and stuffing...cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes...can you tell our minds are still on Thanksgiving?
We've most recently swooned over Solange's many, many outfits in her toned-down cool "Losing You" video, and now we're swaying off last weekend's calories to her latest slow jam, "Lovers In The Parking Lot."
Listen to Solange's "Lovers In The Parking Lot" after the jump.
Appearing on Solange's upcoming EP True (dropping tomorrow, Nov. 27!), "Lovers In The Parking Lot" is a slow-burning soul ballad that describes the emotional fallout of recklessly mishandling someone's feelings: "Played around with your heart, now I'm playing around in the dark/ Played around with your heart, now I'm paying when we're apart/ Played around with your heart, guess I played myself from the start." Backed by stylish, offbeat piano twinkles, church choir-esque "oowooahhss," and a steady heartbeat percussion, Solange sets a good example for impulsive fling-seekers everywhere by staying honest with herself and coming clean about her romantic missteps (because it must be easy to admit your mistakes when you're looking GORG in Madewell catalogs right and left. Just saying).
