Listen to The Wanted's brand-new record, "We Own The Night."
The Wanted are super into declarative statements these days. First, they're all, "Walks Like Rihanna," and now, in their brand-new record, they're saying "We Own The Night." (Kay, maybe "Walks Like Rihanna" is less a declarative statement and more a commentary about the band's collective girl of their dreams, but work with us here.)
Listen to The Wanted's "We Own The Night" after the jump.
Slated to appear on the guys' new disc, Word Of Mouth (out Sept. 16), "We Own The Night" is a lush, inspiring tune about making the most of your time: "When my time is over, lying in my grave/ Written on my tombstone, I want it to say/ This man was a legend, a legend of his time/ When he was at a party, the party never died." Totally into that, although for Max George, we'd like to amend that lyric and add "fist pumped with Mickey Rourke" to his tombstone. Cool?
We should also mention that interspersed between the song's "carpe that effing diem"-inspired lyrics ("Hey, Everybody's got a dream so what do you say/ Are we making history?"), there's also a large chorus of rowdy chants (and bagpipes!) that kiiiiiinda makes us think that the bros were at a pub when they recorded that section. But then again, are these dudes gonna be the life of the party on a strict diet of cucumber-lemon water? Nahhhhh.
