Yeah Yeah Yeahs return after four years with a brand-new single, "Sacrilege."

We haven't heard much from Yeah Yeah Yeahs since the group released 2009's It's Blitz (which was FOUR years ago, in case you lost count). We didn't handle the loss too well -- where else can you find successfully executed bowl cuts, out-of-control rock grrls, and badass soaring rock anthems all in one band?? Well, now we can all finally exhale, because Yeah Yeah Yeahs are BACK with a brand-new album, Mosquito, set to drop April 16, and we've got the first single from the forthcoming set, "Sacrilege." True to form, it's an epic track -- because when you recruit a 20-piece gospel choir for a song, it's automatically going to be labeled as "epic."

On the bombastic tune, the unmistakable Karen O lays her signature sweet-whisper-then-sour yelp over a '60s rock-inspired track. "Fallen for a guy/ Fell down from the sky/ Halo round his head/ Feathers in a bed/ In our bed," Karen emphatically belts. The whole thing gives us a Rolling Stones "Gimme Shelter" vibe (Karen DEF has moves like Jagger), and has us super amped to hear the how the band plans to experiment with "roots reggae and minimalist psychedelia influences" on Mosquito. Also, what do you have to do to join the Yeah Yeah Yeah's backing choir? Is it like The Polyphonic Spree where you just show up in a robe and you're in, or is there a rigorous audition process? Either way, we're listening on repeat to practice.
