Zedd takes a step away from the club scene on his latest "Clarity" remix.
German EDM magician Zedd's visibility has increased tenfold this year (just ask Lady Gaga, who may or may not include his work on her upcoming ARTPOP album). The MTV Artist To Watch has also captured dance/house obsessives with his own material (see: the booming club banger "Clarity (Featuring Foxes)"). Now, after remixing everyone else (like Black Eyed Peas and Skrillex), it makes perfect sense that Zedd would take on his own track, this time, pushing "Clarity" in a stripped-down (but no less epic) direction.

This is hardly the first time "Clarity"'s been touched up (also check out remixes by Tiƫsto, Brillz, and Style of Eye), but in Zedd's latest version, he's "shaved" off the original track's thumping, seizure-inducing electro beats, replacing them with rolling piano chords, searing symphony, and an echoing all-male chorus. We always knew Zedd had the soundboard golden touch, but with this latest makeover, he's done a total 180 -- taking "Clarity" out of the club and into, well, a much smaller club.
Catch "Clarity (Zedd Union Remix)" on the forthcoming Clarity Remix EP, out Feb. 12.
