NEWS FROM CRACKLE, A SONY NETWORK: SUMMER 2017 TCA PRESENTATION
CULVER CITY, Calif. (August 7, 2017) – Crackle, Sony Pictures Television Networks’ free, ad supported streaming network, presented today during the Television Critics Association (TCA) Summer 2017 Press Tour, held at the historic Sony Pictures Studios lot. Eric Berger, Crackle GM and EVP, Digital, Sony Pictures Television Networks, was on hand to introduce a special panel in support of the second season debut of Crackle’s original drama, “StartUp,” featuring producer and star Adam Brody, Edi Gathegi, Otmara Marrero, new cast member Addison Timlin and creator, executive producer, writer and director Ben Ketai. Berger also announced the creation of a new Virtual Reality experience centered on the show debuting this this fall on PlayStation® VR. The network released a new trailer and key art for the sophomore season, which will premiere with all 10-episodes on Thursday, September 28th.
Berger also announced the October 5th release of “SuperMansion: Drag Me to Halloween,” a new Halloween themed special featuring the voices of Bryan Cranston, Keegan-Michael Key, Jillian Bell, and special guest stars Lake Bell and Phil LaMarr. The AVOD service also revealed that their highly anticipated drama, “The Oath” executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and his G-Unit Film & Television Inc., will debut early Q1 2018. CRACKLE RELEASES NEW TRAILER AND KEY ART FOR SOPHOMORE SEASON OF THE NETWORK’S ORIGINAL DRAMA SERIES, ‘STARTUP’ TO DEBUT THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 28TH; VIRTUAL REALITY EXPERIENCE TO LAUNCH THIS FALL ON PLAYSTATION® VR
Crackle released the season two trailer and key art for the network’s original drama series, “StartUp” returning with all 10-episodes on Thursday, September 28th. In addition, the free, AVOD service shared plans to release an interactive and immersive virtual reality experience based on the series to debut on PlayStation® VR and other platforms later fall. Most recently, it was announced that Crackle is headed to the Venice Film Festival with “Snatch VR Heist Experience,” the network’s 360 3D interactive expression of the critically acclaimed drama inspired by the film of the same name. The experience, starring Rupert Grint, is one of the selections to be showcased later this month in Venice Virtual Reality, the festival’s new competition for virtual reality viewing.
The second season of “StartUp,” picks up on the streets of Miami following the takeover of GenCoin, an unregulated global cryptocurrency. With their startup now in the hands of the Russian Mob, our unlikely trio, Izzy Morales, Ronald Dacey, and Nick Talman, reinvest in their partnership and launch an exciting new endeavor, a darknet prototype called ArakNet. But as their decentralized network begins to grow, so too does the peril, the corruption, and the moral turpitude. As our heroes attempt to stay alive long enough to triumph, the sophomore season of “StartUp” poses the all-important question, what is the cost of ambition, and reveals the frightening lengths one might go to achieve ultimate success.
Returning in season two are series’ stars Adam Brody (“CHiPS,” “The League”) also producer, Martin Freeman (“Fargo,” “Sherlock”), Edi Gathegi (“The Blacklist,” “The Blacklist: Redemption”) and Otmara Marrero (“Graceland”). In addition, Ron Perlman (Hellboy, “Sons of Anarchy”) also a producer, joins the sophomore season as Wes Chandler, a multi-millionaire businessman with a level-headed grit, and Addison Timlin (“Californication”) will portray Perlman’s daughter Mara.
“StartUp” is produced by Critical Content and Hollywood Gang Productions. Tom Forman, Andrew Marcus, Ray Ricord, Gianni Nunnari, Shannon Gaulding and Anne Clements (“The Oath”) all serve as executive producers. The series is created and written by Ben Ketai (“Chosen,” THE FOREST) who also serves as executive producer and director. Adam Brody and Ron Perlman serve as producers.

In the all-new stop-motion animated Crackle original special “SuperMansion: Drag Me to Halloween,” debuting on Thursday, October 5th, the League of Freedom experiences all the fun and adventure of Halloween, Titanium Rex’s (voice of Bryan Cranston) least favorite night of the year, from beautiful ghosts to demonic spirits to evil dentists, with some unforeseen attraction mixed in. Special guests include comedians Lake Bell (“Childrens Hospital”) as Millicent and Phil LaMarr (“Futurama”) who will voice, Hugh Dorvaks. In addition to Cranston, the special guests join “SuperMansion” stars Keegan-Michael Key (voice of American Ranger), Jillian Bell (voice of Viking Woman, Clown Girl), Tucker Gilmore (voice of Black Saturn), Zeb Wells (voice of Robobot) and Heidi Gardner (voice of Cooch). The Crackle original special will air on the streaming network this October.
Called “smart and deliriously unpredictable” by The New York Times and “uproariously funny” by Collider, “SuperMansion” follows the adventures of Titanium Rex as he struggles to live with and fight alongside the Millennial-aged, often lackadaisical members of the League. Season two voiceover stars included Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad”), Keegan-Michael Key (“Key & Peele”), Chris Pine (“Star Trek”), Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street), Yvette Nicole Brown (“Community”), Heidi Gardner (The Groundlings), Tucker Gilmore (Frozen), and Zeb Wells (The Amazing Spider-Man, “Robot Chicken”).
Viewers can binge-watch all 24 episodes of “SuperMansion,” the Emmy-nominated Crackle original series, and tune-in for season three when it premieres in early 2018 on the streaming network.
“SuperMansion” is created by Matthew Senreich (“Robot Chicken”) and Zeb Wells, who also act as executive producers under their production company Stoopid Buddy Stoodios alongside Seth Green, John Harvatine IV and Eric Towner. Bryan Cranston and James Degus also serve as executive producers under their production banner Moon Shot Entertainment. “SuperMansion: Drag Me to Halloween” is written by Tom Sheppard (“Robot Chicken”) and Zeb Wells.
